The Los Angeles Clippers were coming off a long, grueling seven-game series win, with one day’s rest, and the San Antonio Spurs were coming off a sweep and a full week’s rest.
It showed in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal on Tuesday as the Spurs pulled away from the tired Clippers and ended up with a 16-point win.
The series resumes with Game 2 on Thursday at the AT&T Center (9:30 pm ET, ESPN).
